Interview with my friend

It would be a lie for me to claim that I learned nothing by doing this interview. Due to the obstacles, my interviewee had to overcome, I was able to recognize how delicate this subject was to him. When numerous Dominicans immigrated here, I discovered the differences in ideologies and common misconceptions. Many immigrants mistakenly think that life will be simpler for them once they reach the United States, which is utterly wrong. People from foreign nations frequently believe they will succeed quickly or will become wealthy as soon as they arrive in the US. This is an incorrect belief that is frequently ignored. Many immigrants struggle for years after arriving in the United States. Money is not something that can be easily acquired. To achieve your goals, which may take years, you must put in a lot of effort and interest. In addition, the level of prejudice that immigrants encounter was another huge idea I learned. After this interview, I was shocked to hear how many Americans have the impression that immigrants are "ruining America." This also reminded me of Huntington's article. I think Americans will always hold this concept in their thoughts and will be almost impossible to try and convince them. All in all, I can say with certainty that I'm glad I completed this interview since it not only helped me get to know my friend better but it also gave me a better understanding of the obstacles and difficulties immigrants experience in life. I am incredibly appreciative of being born and raised in the United States and wouldn't trade it for anything.
