One thing that has surprised me is the resilience and determination that many immigrants possess. Despite facing numerous obstacles such as language barriers, discrimination, and financial difficulties, many immigrants are able to overcome these challenges and thrive in their new environment. It is truly inspiring to see the strength of the human spirit in action.
These conversations have also made me think about various readings and materials that I have been trained on. I have realized that while academic research and statistical data prove important insights into the immigrant experience, there is no substitute for hearing firsthand accounts from individuals who have actually lived through it. It is important to listen and learn from the stories of immigrants to gain a complete understanding of their experiences and the challenges they face. #interviews
